JFCS serves as a beacon of HOPE to those facing unexpected crises in their lives. Through the HELP of a range of food programs we serve the most vulnerable populations in Mercer County. Our on-site food pantry is open to all who need it. The Kosher Cafe is a designated senior nutrition site, providing hot meals for low-income seniors. Our Kosher Meals on Wheels program delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors in our community and Healthy@Home provides a monthly grocery delivery to older adults with physical and/or financial limitations.

Yvette Sarah Clayman Kosher Food Pantry

If you are hungry….you are welcome.

The Yvette Sarah Clayman Kosher Food Pantry, our on-site pantry and the JFCS Mobile Food Pantry are open to EVERYONE in the community.

During this challenging time of COVID-19, we are unable to offer our usual choice model. We are providing prepared bags of food that include non-perishable items, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and chicken.

Use our new online form to sign up and be scheduled for a no-contact pick up time at our pantry.

Why Our Pantry Stands Apart…

  • Our pantry has a full sized refrigerator and two full size freezers that allow us to offer fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to meat and dairy products.
  • Our prepared bags of food consistently provide a healthy supply of non-perishables and fresh food items to every client.
  • All items are kosher and we maintain a supply of products to meet a range of dietary needs such as gluten-free, low sodium, lactose-free, and more!

JFCS recognized that not all who need a food pantry have the ability to visit our on-site pantry. In January 2020, we launched the JFCS Mobile Food Pantry which brings the healthy, choice-pantry experience directly to partner locations across Mercer County.

Kosher Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is known across the country for delivering hot meals directly into the hands of older adults. The program is designed for those who face challenges in accessing nutritious, hot meals due to limited mobility and/or limited income.

Why Kosher?

Meals on Wheels is an incredible resource to aging adults who need the accessibility and nutritional resource; however, older Jewish adults could not turn to Meals on Wheels if they wished to maintain a Kosher diet. Kosher Meals on Wheels (KMOW) fills that gap and allows Jewish seniors to maintain their traditions, bringing a sense of comfort as they age.

JFCS delivers Kosher Meals on Wheels to Jewish seniors in West Windsor, East Windsor, Hightstown, Hamilton, Princeton and Plainsboro. Deliveries are made twice a week and include 5 total meals, one for each day of the week. The hot, Kosher meals are prepared by our partner Greenwood House then distributed by JFCS volunteers to our local communities. Greenwood House staff and volunteers deliver KMOW to those in the Trenton, Lawrenceville, and Ewing communities. Meals are $25 per week and some scholarships are available.

Interested in enrolling in Kosher Meals on Wheels? Contact us at 609-987-8100.

Healthy@Home

Healthy@Home transforms the lives of seniors with regular deliveries of fresh groceries. For one recipient, our staff’s commitment to bringing him the specialty products he is unable to purchase on his own brings great joy. For another, fresh apples were a welcome sight as she is no longer able to carry a bag of them herself home from the store. Healthy@Home is a resource for older adults with physical and/or financial limitations that impact their ability to regularly access nutritious groceries. Healthy@Home clients receive a customized, monthly delivery of groceries which includes fresh and frozen items along with other essentials selected per their dietary needs and personal tastes.

If you or someone you know could benefit from the program,
contact us at 609-987-8100.
