Following the death of a loved one, each of us moves in our own time and in our own way, through a process of grief, mourning and adjustment. But we do not have to grieve alone… This is a weekly group in which members converse openly and support one another through the grief process. Open to any Jewish adult, regardless of affiliation, who has lost a loved one within the past 18 months. This group will be facilitated by Chaplain Beverly Rubman, MA.
This program is funded in part by the Deborah & Harry Kauff Family Fund for Family Life Education

This story of an immigrant girl’s transformation into a business woman in early 20th century New York. As a child in 1913, Malka Treynovsky flees Russia for New York with her family–only to be crippled and abandoned in the streets. Taken in by a tough-loving Italian ices peddler, Malka survives. When she falls in love with Albert, they set off together across America in an ice cream truck to seek their fortune; slowly, she transforms herself into Lillian Dunkle, “The Ice Cream Queen of America.” Spanning 70 years, Lillian’s rise is inextricably linked to the course of American history itself, from Prohibition to the disco days of Studio 54. And when her past starts catching up with her, her world implodes spectacularly.
A kosher lunch will be served and registration is required by 6/10. RSVP to Beth Englezos at bethe@jfcsonline.org or 609-987-8100, ext. 126. The program is open to all and there is a suggested donation of $5.00 per person.
