Mission

Our goal is to provide:

  • Information and Referral
  • Parent Education Workshops
  • Individual and Family Counseling
  • Support Groups for Parents and Siblings
  • Socialization Groups for Children

Over the next few years we hope to expand our services to include:

  • Advocacy and Support Navigating the Public and Private Systems of Care
  • Planning and Coordination of Services
  • Training and Consultation for Staff at Jewish School Sites


Statement of Intent

Hand In Hand is a program initiated by parents in the community and members of the JFCS Special Needs Task Force who are looking for support for the inclusion of all people with special needs into the life of the general and Jewish communities.

JFCS Programs

Social Skills for Children

Participants (ages 7 - 10) will be placed in a specific social skills group best suited to meet their needs following an intake screening by the facilitator. Our program will include games, modeling, and specific lesson plans to learn targeted skills.

Facilitated by Robby Devery, MS, OTR/L. She has been in practice for over 25 years and is the founder of Fun in Motion - Occupational Therapy Services

Day: Thursday afternoons
Date: 10 weeks beginning January 10, 2013 (no class on 1/24)
Time: 4:30pm - 5:30pm
Fee: $250 No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. May be covered by your insurance.
Location: West Windsor Arts Center, Princeton Junction

Yad B'Yad Student Leaders

Yad B'Yad is a leadership program designed for teens to develop skills to work with children and young adults with special needs. 8th through 10th grade students will be: creating an environment of acceptance and tolerance, empowering self and others to achieve, learning successful communication skills, and identifying aspects of a compassionate community through a Jewish lens.

Days: Thursday evenings from November to May, and 4 Friday evenings for Shabbat dinners.
Fee: $36
Location: Thursday evenings at Jewish Family & Children's Service. Friday evenings at Princeton Senior Resource Center.
