Congregation Beth Chaim (329 Village Rd. East, Princeton Junction)

Join Cantor Stuart Binder for a discussion of Edward Kritzler’s groundbreaking book, “Jewish Pirates of the Caribbean” and learn how a generation of swashbuckling Jews carved out an empire in the New World in their quest for treasure, religious freedom and revenge. In this lively work, Kritzler tells the tale of an unlikely group of Jews who took to the high seas in the aftermath of the Spanish Inquisition.  In ships bearing such names as The Prophet Samuel, Queen Esther and the Shield of Abraham, they attacked and plundered the Spanish fleet while forming alliances with other European powers to ensure the safety of Jews living in hiding. For more information on the book, visit https://www.amazon.com/Jewish-Pirates-Caribbean-Edward-Kritzler-ebook/dp/B00L6JD6G4/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr.

A kosher lunch will be served and registration is required by 7/8.  RSVP to Beth Englezos at bethe@jfcsonline.org or 609-987-8100, ext. 126. The program is open to all and there is a suggested donation of $5.00 per person.
